She would work consistently on things. With time bound to a speedy wheel, trying her best to take over the thoughts in her mind. Thanks to the work that always kept her busy, more thanks to the people around, who always crowded the empty space! She would work her heart put, laugh out, keep the smile going and keep the talks on for hours together!
She would walk with them, giggle and stay happy with all those people around and never be alone! She would go camping and her Instagram would fill up with the pictures she clicked with all the mates. She would go on tours and the new places kept uploading in her account. She had followers in millions and friends in thousands, she had all that girls on the Instagram would crave for. Looks, money, fan followings , and a lot of attention from all the world around. A perfect life defined her's!
Things that shine are all not gold! She had so many friends but no-one to interact with, so many followers but no-one to guide her in what to follow , so many friends on Facebook but no-one to talk to face to face, a perfect life on Instagram but an empty one in reality.
Depression isn't all that usually we feel how it looks like. It can crawl in slowly, take over everything and you can never even know it has won over you! It's not always about being quiet, sitting in the corners, weeping hard, crying out , giving up on people. It's often about faking things. Faking smiles, faking reality, and faking your own self! All those smiles and giggles try and hide things, all those Instagram pictures crowded around try to dissolve loneliness and all those people following are a phantom of having friends.
Depression is not getting into bed for hours of weepings, sometimes it can be as silent and as strong enough to hide itself behind giggles and laughter.
We feel a person who keeps posting, keeps smiling is all about a perfect life!
Sometimes its all about faking a life you actually wanted to have! We quickly check on people who haven't posted and haven't met for a while to assess if everything is fine. But do we try to make out that among all the happily smiling faces there might be one that fakes a real big smile?
We hardly look beyond our handset screens these days! And more than that we rarely look beyond looks and smiles. We have lost the ability to peep into hearts and know the real humans within. We are slowly turning into a generation of artificial emotions. We wish people on their birthdays, hardly trying to meet them on their special day, we even wish sympathies through texts hardly trying to know whether our presence would have helped more, we post pictures saying RIP for people who are already gone and we ignore all those who exist until the day comes to say good bye!
Eyes wide open, ears all ready to hear, heart all along the way to support and feet ready to fit into any shoes is all that we need to understand depression and life in true sense.
Yes! Her biggest fear till date was ending up all alone but now I realised it's not! It's ending up in crowd and still feeling alone!
